About that when I update will I still have my stock recovery so if anything goes wrong I can flash the zvd update????:thumbup:

you can flash the vd update without being rooted(to return from VJ if needed)

i flashed the vd update/downgrade so i can have the stock recovery, and now it says there is no update...
whatever, just got my new htc arrive in the mail today!

Well, its 530 in the midwest and I have to admit that I am a little upset that the LG mobile updater doesnt have this update yet. I really wanted to load it before work this morning !!

Give it time, the update will roll out sometime later today. IMHO it is a little unreasonable to assume it will be released at or right after midnight. Give the people some time to work!

They had 6 months since zvh at least ! Plenty of time to fix a huge muck up like that.... I'm anxious as well.

It'll definitely be 2.3.3, but that really isn't a huge deal. I think a lot of the big changes between 2.3.3 and 2.3.7 had to do with hardware the Opti S doesn't have (front facing camera, NFC, etc.), and most of the security issues were patched between 2.3 and 2.3.3.

Remember the lg updater never had the zvh on there either, before they even decide to pull that update.

I don't think so, this file seems to be the source code for the new update, not the actual update.zip I'm guessing if you have the android sdk and compile the download, you would get a working update.zip that you could use... But I'm not sure.

That's correct. The source is not the update.zip, but could be used by the devs to help with ROM building.

For those wanting to know the version, RDF shows 2.3.3:

Downloading the OS code - if it is like ZVH it may not contain everything though. Last time proprietary source was not included. Let's hope they changed their minds with this release.

*EDIT* Based on Drew's comments when I asked about ZVH download - that they only included the kernel and what they modified in Android Open Source - the ZVJ download looks awfully similar to that. So while I'll leave a definitive call to the experts, it's not looking as good as it could have been.

I went back to stock zvd and have been checking system updates periodically, but nothing yet.
