LTE in NW indiana (Chicagoland) is currently active!

That's weird cause when I was at US Cellular field I had LTE coverage in my skyrocket. Weird

Northwest Indiana was upgraded some time ago since it was a very small amount of towers to upgrade. They have kept it very quiet about it being active.

Chicago land area is still ongoing and isn't expected to be fully finished until fall... Seems like the far west and south suburbs have LTE going in many spots.. Example I know out in Yorkville (about an hour south of Chicago) they were active a few weeks back.

Here's a few links to check...

According to that list, not all of Northwest Indiana has been upgraded and it looks like we're (Gary, IN) dead last on the list. What a surprise.

Just turned on my sg 3 in Joliet Il......got 21mb on speedtest.net WOW!! Oddly enough.....my buddlies wimax 4g now does not connect.

I believe it... all the sudden yesterday my NS4G and the wife's Epic 4g couldn't get a 3g signal. We ran some errands Joliet, Plainfield, New Lenox, Orland Park and stayed on roaming the entire time unless we switched to 4g wimax.

For people who are already getting LTE, did you notice any improvements in your 3g speed/signal and voice call quality? I heard that when Sprint upgrade their network towers to LTE, it would also improve 3g signal quality and strength, bringing more consistent and higher speeds on 3g and clearer call quality. Can someone with 4g LTE service active attest to this being the case?

ill take anything; im sick of roaming and having garbage signal due to the network upgrade that isnt going well

I work at a company right on 55 AND 80....measured my download Speed on my Sg3 ...30-35k average and 10k upload....I'm pretty damn impressed....I downloaded a 8 Mb file in about 2-3 seconds.....bad part is I live 2 miles south and don't get a lte signal in Channahon. I would dump my Comcast if I did....I only get 18-20k dl on Comcast.

Also make sure your phone is set to lte/cdma.....and if it is try to power your phone off then back on if you still don't have 4g. Good luck.

Early this morning, in WI, 3G wouldn't connect at all, phone calls worked fine, but it was as if there was no data connection. But all seems fine now.

I have a good feeling Chicago and Indiana is gonna have sprint lte soon

I just talked to Sprint on the phone today.. This issue is known especially here in the Chicagoland area with 3g coverage being lost.

I finished up my conversation with Sprint CS today by getting a $75.00 credit on my account for the poor service during the Network Vision upgrade currently ongoing in Chicagoland area.

10 minute phone call that was well worth it :)
