Can you give us a bit more detail; what step are you on precisely, what files are you trying to transfer, etc.?

Do a sudo bash and retry...?

I'm unlocked, have the phone in Bootloader mode, but my Mac refuses to connect to or recognize it's connected. USB Debugging is on.

When I ./adb devices my nexus doesnt show up when in Bootloader mode.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: Scratch that. I'm an idiot. Figured it out.

I'm stuck!!! I am a newb when it comes to rooting. The only reason I am attempting this is because of Jellybean. When I try to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery I get the following: "An error occurred while attempting to run privileged commands!". I ran through all of the instructions on the initial page of this thread twice and I still keep getting this error. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

***EDIT: I figured it out. Thanks.

Help needed here. I successfully unlocked the bootloader and attempted to root the phone. I went through the whole rooting process, and everything seemed fine. I went to download ROM manager, and this is where my problem lies. I attempt to Flash ClockworkMod Recovery and I get the error that "An error occurred when trying to run privileged commands!"Does this mean that I am not rooted? I do have the superuser app on here though. I also tried to use Titanium backup, and it said that a root can't be found. I am not exactly sure as to what to do next. In the video, he speaks about using the Android File Transfer for something, but I am confused as to if that is the "root" of my problems.

Thank you for the help.

Android File Transfer = Google it, it's an application to transfer files from your phone to your computer.

For your issues, did you use the SU.zip featured in the dropbox link on this page?

I'm having the same problem. It really seems to me that the phone isn't rooted yet. I'm going to search through and find the above information you mention though and see if that helps at all.

I know about Android file transfer, as I do have it on my computer, but I am confused as to when the use it, and for what purpose. Also, no I didn't use that thing in drop box, I'll try that later I suppose.

Also, if I wanted to give up and return to stock, I wouldn't have to un root right? Since I don't think I'm rooted as of now. I would just have to re lock the bootloader? Thanks.

Yes, but relocking wipes EVERYTHING. So you unroot :).

if you're at the google screen for more than a min or two i would pull the battery. then you can replace it and manaually boot to bootloader (vol up, vol down, and power held together) - then navigate with volume keys to "recovery" and select with power. see if that gets you in

thanks zero just tried that now but when i manually boot into recovery its the same stuck at the boot screen problem. i don't think i did anything wrong when i flashed the recovery it said sending writing okay so idk what could be wrong lol

Reflash recovery then boot into it right after. You're on stock?

Well, you need root to flash recovery permanently. What you need to Do basically is temp boot recovery in fast boot so you can flash either the latest su zip or the ROM of your choice. From there you can flash recovery permanently. There's instructions to do this all over, iF you look around or search. Or, I'll write it up for ya tomorrow but I gotta get some sleep BC work at 8 tomorrow.

Its fairly simple tho. Hope this helps. Lmk if you want me to write it up or point ya to the directions if You can't find them.

What they could do is download that r3 superboot folder/zip from the Mac guide at droidforums.net. Place that unzipped folder on the desktop. Then, place a recovery image in there (go download it from clockworkmod website. Place the su.zip on the sdcard. Once that is done =>

Open up terminal.

Power down the phone, hold down all volume plus power to get into the bootloader. Make sure the phone is connected to the Mac by usb.

In terminal, type in "cd Desktop"
Then "cd Whateverthatsuperbootfolderisnamed"

Then "./fastboot-mac flash recovery whatevertherecoveryfilenameis.img"

Then "./fastboot-mac reboot-bootloader? once the prior command is done.

Use the volume toggle, navigate to recovery mode. Press power.

Install the su.zip from the sdcard in your recovery. Reboot the device, use a root file manager app to find that weird system file that must be renamed.

You can Google the last part lol. Phone is limiting my abilities atm.

Or...you can place a rom in the sdcard instead of the su.zip and flash that after making a backup and wiping.

Edit: get the folder zip thing with fastboot here
