Hi,

I recently received the latest YouTube client (5.2.27) and discovered a major issue. While playing and connected to a Bluetooth speaker (in this case my car's audio) the Bluetooth streaming icon that used to be in the upper right corner in portrait, covers the whole screen when in landscape in a semi-transparent way with the video playing behind it.

If I click on the screen I get the normal pause/play button but no option to remove the overlay.

Did anyone experience this?

This is on Note 3 LTE (SM-N9005) International.

Same here! Driving me nuts. Played you tube through Chrome and issue went away

I have the same experience using LG G2 with the new youtube update. Uninstalled the update, the problem disappears.

Here's why folks:

Google added this feature to be aware that your moving in a vehicle using location and GPS settings. Watching movies in a vehicle is illegal while driving so they have made it unenjoyable to watch in hopes you comply with the law. BUT Google has no way to know if a passenger, or kids, is using you tube in the back seat....which isn't illegal.... so they made it universal. If this is the case, I think it's crap. Pure crap.

Don't ask for links or proof of this cause this is only my take on it. It makes sense. They don't want a driver using you tube to stream music videos to a stereo/DVD player while he/she is driving. Don't blame Google though, blame the Government.

Mine does this all the time even just while sitting @home

Go to the Play Store and disable auto-updates for the YouTube app. Then, go into Settings > App Manager > All > YouTube, uninstall updates so it's back to the factory version. Go to androiddrawer.com (or your source of choice) and get the 5.1.10 YouTube apk, install it (requires Unknown Sources to be checked in Settings > Security). Enjoy non-dimmed, Chromecast logoless YouTube again with BlueTooth enabled.
