Major Nexus 6P Map Fail - Anyone Else Having Problems?

I've just discovered that my Nexus 6P is having some serious problems with certain search terms. For example, trying to search for "bar" or "bar nearby" sends me to the town of Bar, Hungary. I never had this problem on the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, or OnePlus One. FWIW I am in Denver - and no one else in my group has this problem with their phones (mix of Apple/Android).

It seems like Google Maps gets confused in certain instances, and tries to find town locations instead of nearby business listings.

Am I missing something here?

I get the same.

I get the same thing, but I'm not sure this is a 6P problem... it look more like a Google Maps problem, but they have also changed this by using the "Explore around you" link at the bottom, and then choosing Drinks... then you have choices of what type of place.

Google doesn't seem to have bars or saloons in their database but the do understand the word pub. Try to search for pubs and you'll get a map

I say show me bars around here and it works great.

Yes, tried "bar nearby" and got Bar, Hungary, but when I said "find me a bar near here" it listed a bunch of places.

If you type "bar" in a desktop browser on Google Maps, it takes you to Hungary as well. So, this is not a Nexus 6p issue, nor a Marshmallow issue, it's a Google Maps issue.

I just did it and this came up. Also I have the 6P

When I type in bar near by it takes me to Hungary. When u type in bar near me or just bar or bars it shows me a list of bars around me. That's on Google maps on my MXPE

If you do "bar nearby" in Google Maps on your laptop it takes you to Hungary. Same search in Bing Maps returns local bars. :-X

Add an "S" to bar and that works.. bars!

This is why. Bar is a specific place -- Bars nearby makes it actually search. I just tried "Bars Nearby" and it worked like it was supposed to.
