So, I have a few problems with the Gingerbread keyboard in my MIUI US build. It has a stutter. It likes to repeat a letter or two at the beginning of a word, and only dictionary the "full word" part of it. So if I type quickly, I get sentences like "Hi, this kkeyboard doesn't work vevery well." Sometimes it opts out of correcting words that it should correct, etc etc. In fact, this has happened with every Gingerbread keyboard I've used. I use the stock one because of all my keyboards, it behaves the best.
So I want to try putting together my own. I don't know where to start, though! I'd prefer trying to build off of the stock keyboard at least, but I don't know where to get the source, or how it would be compiled and tested. Would it work like any other app? If you can point me in the right direction, anything good I can come up with could go on the market for all to enjoy.
