MALWARE ALERT: Be careful with texts from DHL or other "delivery" companies

If you get any unsolicited text, be skeptical. If you didn't order anything or expecting a delivery but get a delivery text, 100% it's spam and likely phishing/malware.
 
Agreed. Even then, it's important to note that simply tapping the link in the message typically won't put you in danger, even if a file gets downloaded. The user typically has to agree to install whatever malicious package gets downloaded. You can avoid this by making sure the Unknown Sources option is turned off (mentioned in my guide that I linked earlier).

But it's best to avoid this completely by taking Mooncatt's advice and not fall for the bait!
 
Moral of the story, don't install weird APKs from weird places unless you are reasonably sure they're legit.

I would amend that to only install apps from the Play Store and carefully install APK's only if you're 100% sure of its' legitimacy.
