So since I got my Note 2 a couple weeks ago, I have not been able to get both my Gmail and Cox email to come through automatically on my phone.....I have to go into the email and then press the "Refresh" button to bring in the emails. I have checked and rechecked my settings to no avail, and today decided to call Verizon, because something is just not right.

Well, Verizon says it is currently a Known Samsung issue (I think only the Note 2) across all email providers and currently no fix and they are waiting on a patch from Samsung. So I just wanted to put this out there in case anyone else is having this issue and didn't know about it. I guess if you use email on your phone you would realize it.

So not thrilled that I have to manually bring them in as I hate to have to check constantly as to not miss any important email from clients. Looking on the positive side.....guess it may save on the battery and isn't the worst thing that could happen!

Are you using the Gmail app for Gmail or the stock email? Gmail app pushes fine for me.

I set up the Gmail using the Gmail app. Sync is on and I still have to hit refresh for email to come in. My Cox account I set up using 'other' in the set up and it brought in the settings and account perfectly, and hadit set to sync every 15 minutes, but they don't come through unless I hit refresh.

Did you check your sync schedule? I use the Gmail app for Gmail and the stock email app for a Hotmail and a yahoo account. For the stock email check and make sure your sync schedule is set up right. You can set a peak and off peak schedule. Be sure the days for peak are highlighted and that the times are right.

I am sorry if you already did this. I'm just starting at scratch to try and help. I'll keep looking to see what else may be going on.

a "known samsung issue"?? sounds like BS to me. seriously. I use Comcast, Gmail, and Yahoo. they ALL push. The only time I had an issue was with an update to Yahoo a while back. the workaround then was for me to install the generic email version of yahoo, and then the Yahoo Mail app would push. that has subsequently been fixed.

I agree. I have never heard of this "known issue" either. I think someone just didn't know the answer and wanted to get off the phone. Hopefully we can help figure it out.

Thank you, I truly appreciate the help. Yes, I did have all of this set up, but just checked again. ....I have peak set to 6:00 am to 8:00pm, and both peak/off peak to sync every 15 minutes, all days are highlighted. Sync email and email notification are both checked. This is all in the stock email for my Cox account as this is the one I am most concerned about.

Thank you guys, I totally agree now that I think about it. The Rep was very nice, but had me check the pop settings had me take out 'east' from 'pop.east.cox.net' which I do think I had to do on my thunderbolt at one time, but that made No difference on this phone. I certainly would think of both accounts worked perfectly on the Tbolt, they would be even better on this fantastic phone.

I agree that perhaps he took an easy route to get off the phone and blamed Samsung.

Ok this is very odd, I left everything as stated above with the stock account (Cox) and went to my Gmail account and unchecked/re-checked everything, then restarted my phone, and now both accounts are pushing automatically and notifying!

This is very strange as neither account has pushed automatically since I got the phone a couple weeks ago! It doesn't make sense that re-setting the Gmail account would make the other one work now too, and why they didn't work to begin with as I had all the same exact settings set up!

I am So happy that it appears to be working and I greatly appreciate the time and effort from both of you!! Thank You! It appears you were right about the mis-informed or lazy VZW Rep.
