Trying to do the manual update with the GB release, but I'm getting an error with the update file. The update starts, then it says a patch its applying to the system/bin/logwrapper file has failed, then says status 7, and prompts me to reboot, which it does fine, but not with GB.

Any thoughts here? I was rooted, but unrooted and did a factory reset.

Thanks.

Have to go back to stock .340 depending on what you were using you might have to sbf first

INSTRUCTIONS FOR REMOVING BOOTSTRAPER

before you sbf, just uninstall bootstrap, then navigate to /system/bin and delete the file named "hijack". then delete the file named "logwrapper". then rename the file named "logwrapper.bin" to "logwrapper". that will fully uninstall bootstrap

i get the message file not found after i load it onto my SD card. any tips. I used zroot to root my phone a while back. i have done a security wipe twice but the superuser still remains in my app drawer.

OK, looks like GB is just about done installing as I type this (hope I'm not jinxing myself!). Here are the steps I followed. I still somewhat of a novice, so some of this may have been unnecessary.

1. Unroot using Z4.
2. Factory reset.
3. Downloaded the .340 sbf (used google to find it).
4. Installed rsd lite 4.8 on my desktop.
5. Opened rsd, then connected my phone. Phone should be in PC Mode with USB Debugging selected in the settings.
6. Selected my phone and the sbf file in rsd.
7. Ran the flash (took about 15 minutes)
8. Loaded the new GB file on to my sd card
9. Powered on holding the home button, then hitting search, just as in Phil's original posted instructions.
10. Used the recovery mode to wipe data AND the cache
11. Applied the update.zip from sd card in recovery mode (the GB file)
12. Let it run, then reboot.
13. Enjoy GB! In the time it took me to type these steps, I'm up and running!!!!

Took me a couple hours, but man did I learn a lot about Android in the process. Should be a breeze in the future.

I wanna imstall this bad right now.. Gonna wait till tomorrow to see if P3 has Root though, if I can make it! Hah

I just rebooted after uninstalling bootstrap and there's no hijack file and only one file with the name logwrapper (I haven't tried to do the OTA update yet). Any thoughts?

Same thing happen to me and so I took the ''.zip'' out and use just ''update'' and it installed with no problems...So far anyway...Hope this helps...

I have a suspicion you were trying to install the Froyo update 2.3.340 as in 2.2.1

At least that's the supposed download identity

Appears someone is having a good time at the expense of everyone else???

Sorry, you're 100% wrong. I just installed it, and it's clearly Gingerbread. I made sure my (never used) bootstrap files were gone after I uninstalled the app, removed several other items that use root, unrooted, and followed the directions given here and elsewhere.

I may do a factory reset (it's usually a good idea) but it's definitely working.

And no offense, but if you paid any attention to the names of the people saying it worked (including Phil here on AC, and P3Droid from TBH) you'd know it wasn't a joke.
