Maps no longer working correctly??

I used to be able to say 'ok google - navigate home' on my android wear device and it would open up maps on my phone and direct me home.

Now it says calculating route for about 1 min then comes up with a message saying check on phone.

I get directions on my watch if I chose the destination on my phone but no longer the other way round. Am I missing something here or is anyone else experiencing this? I have all the location settings etc on.

I know this was an issue a while back. Make sure google maps app is up to date. If you still have issues then this was the solution I found where people stated it worked.

On your Phone go to Apps Manager.. Look for Google Maps.. Uninstall Updates.. This feature doesnt seem to be working with Maps 9.xx.. It has to be Maps 8.xx... then run Google Maps on your phone once. Make sure you navigate at least once as there are some pop up notifications on the phone the first time you navigate with maps and the watch does not know what to do handle pop up. Once you have navigated at least once restart your phone and try launching it from your watch.

You can check your version of google maps by launching the the google maps app, press the menu icon (3 bars in the top left corner), scroll to settings and select About, terms & privacy. Folks are reporting that the watch is now working with 9.5.x, mine shows version 9.5.1 and navigation on my watch seems to work.

great thanks for your reply, im currently without my phone as its had to be sent back for repair for the third time (G3 keeps randomly switching off) its meant to be delivered today so will try this once im back up and running and report on my findings.

latest updates on my phone never fixed this - I think this is still an issue i'm afraid
