March Update Update[emoji4]

I did see the other thread about it last week and was checking in on it. Did seem hit or miss with who was getting it. The only reason I was asking is that I though I read somewhere that this release was supposed to include it. Not a big deal, was just curious.
I read the same on a few tech news sites. I have not seen any changes yet in that area, iPhone reactions still come thru as a message. I also have not seen the new "organize" feature yet. That seems pretty useful, at least to me. I did see something new today, it was a birthday for one of my contacts and Messages put the last text between us at the top of the list with a blue banner alerting me it was his birthday. That was kind of cool.

Anyone on the beta program received the most recent stable march update yet? Still waiting for it in the UK on EE

If you are in the beta program you won't get normal monthly security updates, all updates come thru the beta program.

Battery has drained more than usual past two days with 5% overnight. It was consistently no drain to 1% overnight. Hopefully it's just settling in adjusting to the new update.

Yesterday was my first full day with the update and it did notice the drain a little bit more than normal. I put the phone to charge at the end of the day with 16%

That's what I'm hoping for, too. It seems to be draining a bit more quickly.

First full day with the update, so just been off the charger about 5 hours. Screen off battery drain is ridiculous. 6.5% according to accubattery.

I just wanted better battery life, and a slightly better FPS.

Mobile Network is taking up less battery life than it was pre-update according to the Pixel, but yet my phone is running warmer and Accubattery tells me I'm averaging 7% per hour screen off time. This is insane.

Google just doesn't have it in them.

Yes. I have noticed this too......I havent found a way to increase it either.

Same here. It's ridiculously mild at the max setting when it was perfect before the update (in fact it was one of the most lively vibrator motors on any phone I've ever had which is good IMO). I sent in a bug report about it but I doubt that will do any good.

Not sure why in the heck they'd make it milder when that should be up to the user. This is my very first Pixel phone (P6P) and I'm not super excited about the beta testing I seem to be a part of.

My battery life actually seems better, but the FPS is much worse for me. Fix one, break one seems to be Google's development plan.

based on a thread I removed all my widgets and then added them back. phone has been running cooler the last couple hours since then.

My phone has been running cool with not much background battery loss, and overnight barely lost charge (mostly ambient display) - of course this needs to keep happening and become a trend. But will keep monitoring

So no one else is having a hotspot problem? Only me? I called Google with the problem, and they decided to send a new Pixel 6 Pro. Guess what? Is till can't access the hotspot after I installed all the updates. WTF?

battery life has been worse after the update but bad since i got the p6p a few weeks ago. terrible loss overnight. last night i had 84% when i went to bed. do not disturb was on so no notifications. woke up to 68%. under battery usage and past 24 hours in settings i see mobile network right at the top at 70% usage. i haven't made any calls, haven't left the house or been off wifi in days. isn't that weird? so much mobile network usage when i haven't even used it? i looked under network and sim and i had roaming toggled on. i turned that to off and switched my preferred network to lte instead of 5g. we'll see if that does anything. any ideas on this?

I have not used a WiFi hotspot in a long time. But I have to tomorrow morning with my P6 and a laptop. I'll try to remember to post my results here.

I am at my local Jeep dealer this morning and brought a laptop from work with me. I have been running a Wi-Fi hotspot from my phone to computer for about 45 minutes now with excellent internet speed and no disconnects.
