Market search not working

Search not working - Force Close loop

Clicking the search button at the top or the soft button does nothing. Trying one to many times reboot my phone. Wtf?

Have you tried clearing the cache?

Didn't work. And now I'm realizing the soft search button doesn't work at all.

Also going to settings->search causes Android.process.acore to force close in a loop over and over causing me to battery pull to stop it.

yeah so now it seems the problem isn't specific to the market, but anytime search is used my phone will freeze then reboot.

You may need to do a factory reset but remember this will erase everything off your phone like it was on day 1. You can always wait for Froyo because the OTA may fix the problem.

ugh, did that once already. At this point I may just root and flash a rom since that'll probably require me to reset anyway.

You could always go back to Verizon for a replacement

yeah but if its just a software problem then its not really worth it as I'd have to restore all my stuff anyway

I'm currently having the same problem on my Droid X. Did you ever have any luck fixing it?
