From what I've searched, the Nova Prime launcher doesn't allow activation of Google Now on Tap? Am I missing something?

No idea, works fine on my Droid Turbo 2 with nova launcher...however I use the beta version of nova launcher so that might be the difference

Re: Marshmallow, Nova Prime, & Now on Tap not compatible?

It is working on mine. I hold down the home button and it comes up. This is what shows info on what is currently on the screen I am looking at... Correct?

No problems on mine (Galaxy S7 Edge). I'm on Marshmallow, I have Nova Prime, and I have Google On Tap active.

When I hold the home button nothing happens. I'll try a reboot.

Make sure that all proper options are active on the Google App and that you don't have any apps/gestures that are 'taking over' the Home Button.

When I go to Google Now settings, and go to 'Now on Tap', the slider switch is gray'ed and wont let me turn it on.

You have to have your apps and browser history turned on for it to work. Got to the google app; settings; accounts and privacy; google activity controls; web and app activity. That should take care of the issue.

Yes, I have them turned on still not working, still not working, On Tap still greyed out does not allow me to turn it on

If anyone with the same problem as I had comes across this, I found this, and it worked.

Go to apps
Press the gear in the upper right.
Go to default apps.
Assist & voice input.
Then under assist app select Google app.
