Marshmallow update for Verizon note 4

It says I can download and install over WI-FI. My Note 4 is not my current activated phone. Will it still download and install?

Mine just completed the update....the icons look slightly different, but everything is setup just as I had it before (all of my Nova Launcher Pro settings, Verizon's Text Messenger app....all good)..... I didn't do any prep or anything....just downloaded the update and let it happen.

Everything appears solid and quick.

I haven't even looked into Marshmallow. What is supposed to be new and improved? That is, what USEFUL things have changed?

My verizon note 4 just updated today, everything looks fine. Hope everyone gets their marshmallow soon!

I checked and it's available but I always put off any updates for a few weeks to make sure there are no major issues others are having. My phone is working fine on 5.1.1. I would be interested in knowing if the doze feature actually increases battery life.

Updated mine earlier today. Had to do a couple restarts to get everything working together but now it's great. Like the SPen note taking from "off" by removing Spen and writing on screen. New SPen actions are nice also. SPen really is the center of the Note 4. Still need to try WiFi calling.

Ok updated. What should I be looking for? What's cool?

Unfortunately, my S-pen air command stopped working after I updated. My detachment option is set to air command but nothing happens when I remove the S pen from my phone. I also noticed my options are all grayed out under Settings> S pen> Air command. I've tried a battery pull & restarting several times but no change. Prior to the update, my S-pen worked flawlessly. I guess I should've waited a bit before updating 🙁

I read somewhere that you can change the settings screen to night mode. Is it true? If so, how?

Thanks

This update has been flawless for me! Battery life is improved. The UI is much snappier all around. Love the new options for the S-Pen. And...*drum roll* no more skipping Bluetooth!! :D This is a huge improvement to me. I use BT every day.
Still can't get over that VZW wasn't the last to update to MM.

My phone feels 98% the same. My battery still sucks.

What was the excitement for mm?

I did get to send a taco emoji today. Yippee

Try a factory reset. My battery is much better after the update and a factory reset.

Something to keep in mind....when you apply an OS update (especially a big one LP ---> MM) things are not going to settle down for a few days. This means that your phone can run hot for awhile and you will also consume more battery than usual. IOW, give it a few days. Also, if your battery is over a year old, I highly recommend purchasing a new one. I did a few weeks ago and it made a HUGE difference.

Get the Samsung Good Lock app. It lets you customize the notification bar, pulldown, and quick settings to look more like stock Android.

Don't see it in play or galaxy apps store.
