Marshmallow

I got mine last night at about 23:00, left it to download.
This morning I installed the update and then charged it 100% before leaving the house.

Battery life seems to have gone down the drain for me, I'm on 8% per hour. No new apps or anything different. It looks like my watch isn't going into idle at all. I only have 2% idle for the 2 hrs usage.

EDIT: I got the battery usage down to 5.92% per hour, by disabling Google Fit on the watch. ( Open Fit on the watch, swipe right until the last screen, Select Google Fit App ) So my battery issues were caused by Fit and not Marshmallow.

Does anyone know how to prevent the screen from dimming when you turn your wrist over? This is new in Marshmallow. Makes the watch unusable for boarding passes at TSA or the gate. Never a problem before the update. Thx.

Just a quick report back, battery life seems to have improved by 1% per hour (I used to average 7-7.5%/hr, now it's around 6-6.5%/hr) with the same, if not more usage on the same watchface. I'm now averaging an easy 16 hours of usage for a charge with gestures and ambient on. Also I've noticed the watch is far less responsive when battery saver kicks in compared to 5.1.1 - sometimes tapping or even pressing the side button doesn't wake the watch. Otherwise, watch generally seems snappier and lasts longer.

I to am pleased with the the 6 update. Yesterday took watch off charge at 9.30am, and by 8.30pm, still had 72% left. Android Battery Wear advised was using 2.9% per hour .... not bad at all. That his is wi-fi off, ambient off, and tilt to wake off (had it the same on lollipop)

No lag so far either, on lollipop there still was always a little lag occasioanlly.

Interesting use case. If it fails for you, you might have to disable gestures on traveling days.

Got the update a few days ago and it's been pretty disappointing. Battery life went from about 18 hours to about 6. No lag before the update, now it's terrible. Watch locks up requiring a button-hold reset at least once a day. Sometimes doesn't charge when I put it in the cradle; I have to take it out, reset it, and put it back to get it to charge. I did a factory reset on the watch, cleared and reinstalled android wear. Let's hope that fixes it. If not I may have a 1st gen 360 for sale.

It might be worth it to try resetting your watch. I had some bad battery issues as well after the update, but they solved themselves after a few charges. I read on reddit that a reset helps the battery/battery indication fix itself a little quicker. I didn't try it, but my battery went from 7%/hr to an average of 4 or less %/hr.

If that doesn't work, I suggest checking your wear apps. There might be an app/watchface that is causing this issue.

Thank you. It actually took 3 factory resets of the watch before it would stay paired and connected. All is good now. My watch is better than ever. Even accuweather works, which it never has before since the day I got it.
