Mass texting question

When my friends mass text me it goes into a group text conversation. I want to reply back in the conversation and instead it sends out individual texts to each person. Is there a setting I can change on my Photon that will allow this? My friend has a droid and it gives him an option to send it as a group text or individual. Thanks.
