Mate 10 benchmark scores

Gsm arena has posted bench scores for the new Mate. Seems to be pretty comparable to current Android flagships.

I was expecting quite a bit more in the single and multi cores. Doesn't seem too much more than the Kirin 960

I think the Kirin 960 was a beast that was ahead of it's time. I don't think the 970 is underpowered, more so the other manufacturers have cought up.

I don't agree with that. Even compared to the 950, the 960 is an improvement in some areas, but a regression in others. Overall, it could be a little better, but i wouldn't say that it was way ahead of it's time, either compared to it's predecessor, or to the competition at the time.

Kirin 960 was better soc of 2016 compare to the other competition , I believe. Beats SD 821. Still, thought the 970 would've been a big leap ahead but it isn't.

Yes and no. It beats the sd821 in some benchmarks. Loses in others.

Yeah, most benchmarks I saw had the 960 at the top of most charts. I think sd821 had a better you for gaming performance. I guess it all depends on what matters most to you.

Yah, Adreno beats Mali GPU just about every time. Both chips perform well tho. Both are great to use.

Slight to about a 10% improvement over the 960 in most areas except for the ANTUTU 6 score. Very large increase in the ANTUTU score - from around 122,000 to 178,000 (~45%). Really looking forward to a review of the camera performance.

again...depends on what you mean by overall. antutu on the Samsung FE and Pixel XL has a higher overall score than the mate 9.

Mainly due to gpu score. Mali doesn't score nearly as high

Ok let's put aside the gpu for a second. Breaking since we aren't looking overall let's look at components. The kirin 960 is worse in floating point than the 821.

If you're talking about antutu points. Okay, sure. But the real fact Kirin 960 is a better cpu than Snapdragon 821. Snapdragon has a better GPU. No arguments on that.

Not that the average person would see a difference in any of these phones and chips. Each soc has their pluses and minuses and whatever you end up going with, I'm sure will keep you happy for a long time.

They won't see any huge difference in every day performance. Even the mid range phones perform really well .
