May return my DX, for non-encrypted Bootloader

Totally new to the Android (Droid X)... yet another BB Storm convert here.
When I had the Storm, I was constantly tweaking the Java files with hybrids to attempt to make the damn thing usable.

I have had the DX for one week and really like it a LOT, but once again after the Storm1... I would like most anything.

I am concerned that after some time the DX will be overlooked for updates, I may be locked in like I was with the Storm?

Wouldn't the ability to load custom ROMs allow me to use leaked OS upgrades and 3rd party fixes after it is no longer officially supported.

Also, Overclocking options seems to be minimal with the DX

Need to decide before the 30 day trial

Suggestions?


EDIT: manually deodexing? Is this a sign that there is hope for the DX yet?
