Maybe I Need A Nexus 6

In the last week my glorious Nexus 5 has some problems. Auto reboots, auto reboots and auto reboots. It's running 5.1 OTA and no root. Today I wiped it out and start it again, but sometimes the reboot is still there.
I was thinking to keep my Nexus 5 until a new model arrived, but now I don't know if i can wait at least six months.
I like the Nexus 6, and I would like to know if you have found any issue. If I buy it, I would keep it for a couple of years. I know some models had the back cover issue, while other users complain about the pinkish display. I want to run stock Android, but I want a good phone to count on. What do you think? Is the Nexus 6 a good choice or a bad one, considering we are in May?
Thank you.

I don't think it's that bad of a choice. I'm sure by now almost any manufacturing error has been corrected.

Perhaps is not a software problem. You should check if your power button is damaged. This happened to me with other phone.

How can I check it?

I guess you should take the phone to service. That's what I did with a S4 that rebooted all time, in my case they told me that the power button was damaged and that triggered the reboots. They changed it and no more reboots, my wife is using it and no problems.

The logic there is that the faulty power button may be in contact for some seconds and therefore triggering the reboots.

You should see if you can hobble along for 7 months. I love my N6. Best phone ever. I imagine, however, the next Nexus will be 64 bit and will be a bit more future proof and may be smaller.
You could always pick up something cheap like a Oneplus and then sell that and the N5 in November to buy the new Nexus.

Shamu to you too *splash*

Check out the moto x 2 awesome phone basically a nexus 6 just not as big

Moto X 2014

I bought my Nexus 6 in late January and haven't regretted it one bit. I expect to be using it for two or three years. I don't think 64 bit will matter for a couple years, for me at least. I'd buy one. I love this thing. Its a monster.

I would buy one now. Though I would get a 64gb if I had it to do over again. Mine is 32gb and I have 18 left but that's because I had back on downloading media..

You can get them new on ebay for $475 to $550. Mine was $489 but no accessories. (which I don't need, had a wireless charger already and plenty of cables)

My Nexus 5 also had some issues at the end, although then I dropped it and chipped the corner of the screen with the proximity sensor, which made it worse (but was totally my fault). I grabbed an N6 and couldn't be happier with it - the battery life, camera, and build quality are night and day better than the N5 was in my experience. The one thing that only you can decide is whether the larger size is something you can use and enjoy. I was tentative initially, but I'm really happy with the larger screen now.

If you decide you can't take the size of the N6, the Moto X 2014 is also a really great device, has a larger screen in the same size package as the N5, and can be had for a darn reasonable price right now. Or if you want to purchase on contract the G4 also looks solid with camera and battery life, and splits the difference in size (though it's come with their fugly launcher skin).
