An update.....went to my local Tmo store to get an R15 sim prior to updating, what a cluster. First, the person in the store had no idea what I was talking about and was reluctant to fulfill my request. Finally she went into the back and came back with an R15 sim. Next she says she activated it....she did not. Had no cellular service after I got home and installed the sim. Lastly, I was charged $11.00 for the sim after much insistence that it was suppose to be free since it was required as a result of Tmo upgrading its network. It was recommended that I call Tmo customer service to get a credit. So.......
After discovering I had no network / cellular service, I did call Tmo customer service and talked to a very good rep who was willing and prepared to help me out. First she activated my sim.....it had not been activated. Then she credited my account for the $11.00 I paid for the sim. The only upside to going into the Tmo store was being able to walk out with the R15 sim. I did file a complaint about the service in the Tmo store with the customer service rep who was surprised that the sales person was unaware of the sim swap for certain Tmo 5G phones, that it was free and didn't know how to activate a sim properly.
Lesson learned, I'm not going back to that store and will conduct my Tmo business either online or through their customer service phone number as much as possible..
