Media files (Youtube, audio books etc) pause for no reason

I was looking for an option to Wipe Cache Partition, but not all phones have that option. It sounds like yours doesn't, so just reboot.

OK. Any ideas from here? I took the phone out of the house yesterday and tried it with the bluetooth on and the media still paused so I don't think its anything to do with my appliances.

It may be a hassle, but a factory reset might be your next step (after backing up your important data, of course).

Do you know for sure if this started happening only recently, or is it something that may have been going on for a long time without your knowledge? I'm starting to think this may be a bug in the firmware or hardware of the phone.

The problem started two nights ago. I was actually looking at the phone when it started. It just paused for no reason and when I hit the play button I got another 15 seconds and it did it again and on and on. The phone did get an OTA up grade last week but that was several days before the problem started. If I do do a factory reset do you have any advice on backing up my data? All my important documents are on dropbox so that easy enough but I'll take some advice on the rest. Thanks again for all your help.

Does your phone have Google services? For me, that's the best way to keep all of my data safe (i.e., photos via Google Photos, music via Google Play Music, documents and other files via Google Drive, random notes via Google Keep). The Google backup system is supposed to backup your SMS messages, although I don't know about images from MMS messages. https://support.google.com/android/answer/2819582?hl=en

Ok. Sage continues. A strange thing happened with this problem of mine this morning and maybe it'll shine some light on what's going on. Well, you know sometimes your wifi gets stuck and the only way you can get it to work again is to turn it off and then turn it back on again? Well, that happen this morning but before I got a chance to "fix" the wifi I started watching a video I had loaded on my phone. Just for the fun of it I turned my bluetooth on and believe it or not, the video didn't pause! Now just so we're clear, my wifi was still turned on, it just wouldn't connect and my bluetooth was turned on and the videos played perfect. Just now I went in and reset the wifi and my phone eminently reconnected and..... when I went and played a video, sure enough it paused on it own after about 5 seconds. Very strange behavior. Does this give anyone any ideas?
