Media Server eating my battery?

I had the same problem. First I cleared all data from media server and all other applications with the word "play" in them. The situation improved slightly, but the real fix was a battery pull. Apparently pulling out the battery unloads something not cleared by a simple restart.

When I first got my N4 and when it was on Jelly Bean I had this same issue and disabling Google Currents fixed it for me, well it seemed like it did anyway.

Good Luck!

I had this problem but it's easily sorted. You need to delete everything off your device, all apps and music. Check also for corrupt photos and videos. This I know is a pain but not as big a pain as media server. Then fully charge your device, this will reset your battery stats. If media server is gone brilliant! If not there's still a file on there causing problems so delete again and then recharge.

I started facing this issue . Had no idea what I had done to begin. There were no changes I had made to the phone in a while that I can remember . The trick to uncheck google play music from syncing resolved the issue . Verified across one cycle of complete charge to zero charge
