Hi.
my partner and i brought this phone a few weeks ago
anyways long story short i put in a known brand memory card and she had an old non branded one I dont know if this is the issue.
today she took about 200 photos and then she showed a few people on her way home then came to show me and about half the photos where gone.
So i took the memory card out and found all the lost files in the lost.dir folder thank god and i changed them all back to .jpg and they all worked fine.

She said the phone died while playing with it this afternoon but the where defiantly all there.
she said the gallery and the camera app where defenty closed as she was trying to save battery while playing a game
but when going through the photos i found one that was unusual came up as 200F7B~2.jpg
not the date like the other ones.

Now i am wondering what caused about 160 photos to go in to lost.dir?
should i go out and buy her a brand name memory card or any ideas would help as i am new and confused.

Welcome to Android Central! No-name SD cards will be riskier to use than those from well-known companies. Definitely replace that card with one from a company like Sandisk, Toshiba, Samsung, Patriot, or PNY. And get the card from a reputable seller, not some random person on eBay. Counterfeit cards are common, so make sure the seller is legit.

You can run SD Insight to make sure the card is what it says it is.
