No, because then I will be digitally unwell and you don't want to be around when that occurs.
Lol

digital wellness is overrated..LOL
The dam thing is in beta ..I don't care for it
You don't need no stinkin' beta app to tell you that obsessive-compulsive multiple device ownership is a digital sickness.![]()
OMG. This would drive me INSANE. I use Waze + Apple Music while driving a lot, and both sit in the background while the phone sits locked in my pocket. If it began kicking one of them out I'd go ballistic, both are pretty demanding apps, but when one has a Flagship such apps as well as YouTube and Google Maps should never be an issue.Ugh, I thought I had kind of gotten around this but as of today I'm getting a new symptom of memory issues now.
If I'm streaming a youtube video in the background (usually a talk show podcast type of thing) and using other apps at the same time, I can only load up about 3 other apps before the youtube video stops playing in the background. No, it's not another app queuing up audio to play over the youtube video. This is getting pretty annoying. Between this and my problems with the navigation app, the memory issues are getting pretty close to being a deal breaker for me. I've never owned an apple product but I'm seriously thinking of just getting the iphone X. At the least, I might trade in the S8 that I still have and get the S9, and get the S10 comes out. I'm not sure I can even deal with this phone for the 4 months until the S10 is released.
I'm certain the phone can operate on 4gb of RAM, and I think it's just a software RAM management issue, but it'd be nice if google acknowledged this and committed to an update...otherwise I would not deal with this long term.
It seems like google maps navigation, the camera app, and streaming music or youtube in the background are the main culprits as far as memory management issues.

That is brilliant. Hopefully Google have managed to get to the crux of the issue.Using Waze with a music app hasn't been an issue. The issue has been mostly music apps shutting down with high intensity camera features. The adaptive battery program is the culprit which can be disabled by app or entirely. I've found that disabling it for a couple of days solved the issue. A fix is on the way

It sucks watching the Pixel 3 XL getting done like this as it's taking away from the fantastic camera.
Is the Camera not saving pictures sometimes part of the RAM issue to?
I used Waze with Amazon music and took random pics while driving. Like not really paying attention, cause driving.. just tapping the button.. and nothing happened.
My bad. What do you mean by nothing happened? Do you mean that it didn't crash or that it didn't take pictures?
My bad.
It didn't crash. Everything worked well.
I see the memory issue with my 3 XL, too. Constant app reloads. What I've never understood is all the people that say they never saw the issue with the 2 XL. I had the exact same issue with my 2 XL...apps would constantly reload. I don't think my issues are related to adaptive battery. I turned that feature off with my 2 XL when I noticed delayed notifications with a lot of apps and I've had it turned off on my 3XL since initial setup. Maybe it is related to digital wellness??? I did have that running on my 2 XL but I've never even opened it on my 3 XL.
That's fair. And perhaps referring to it as an "issue" was the incorrect term. I probably should have said annoyance, because that's what it is to me. Obviously not a deal breaker or I wouldn't continue using the phone. And in fairness to others, I rarely listen to music on my phone. If I did, and that app was constantly being killed when trying to do something else at the same time then yeah, I'd be pretty frustrated with that.I don't think that it didn't happen with the 2....I think it is more aggressive on the 3.
Honestly I've never even thought about app reloads as being a real problem but I guess we are all wired differently. Music apps closing while running something else is more of an issue but so far that only happened with the camera so I'm not too concerned and my phone seems to have learned not to do that.
That is brilliant. Hopefully Google have managed to get to the crux of the issue.

I don't see any missing pictures in the Photos app so I don't think I am having the issue....![]()
