Menu tap-area is broken.

"Fixing" does, indeed, imply an error or something behaving incorrectly. It doesn't matter whether that incorrect behaviour resulted from someone making a choice or making a mistake (or any other reason), it's still something behaving incorrectly.

I feel that you are equating two different things: (a) fixing a glitch, and (b) disagreeing with a design choice. This difference does matter. If something is behaving the way it was intended, it isn't an error. If you disagree with a design choice, then it's essentially an opinion (which you are very much entitled to).

Personally, I never said that this was the preferred way, and that it should be just fine for you -- I was explaining that this was the way it was designed, and the rationale behind it.

Also, please remember that AC is not an official "support forum." It's an independent community, and badged members like Javier P, Almeuit, and me are all unpaid volunteers. Your frustration would be more understandable if you were talking to the official Samsung tech support people (who get paid to do that stuff), but we're ordinary joes (and jills) just like you.:)

It's true, I came into this under the assumption that a glitch needed to be fixed. Eventually I learned that it was a design choice and shifted my question appropriately (I think that happened in another thread, though). Either way, it's still, from my perspective, unexpected and undesirable behaviour and a fix (or an indication about when, if ever, one will happen) is the ideal response.

It's worth mentioning that I came to this forum via a google search of my problem and, based on all the cues I got, it was reasonable to assume it was an official support forum. Obviously I've received many other cues since then that override those first ones, but those first ones are still there and will very likely be the initial impression of any potential new member. I don't know how much that means to you, but it's there.

It's also worth mentioning that I'm coming out of this interaction with respect for you, B. Diddy. Once again, I don't know how much that means to you, but it's there.

Well thank you, I appreciate those kind words.:) You're not the first person who has come here thinking that AC is an official Google/Android site. But once you've become accustomed to the tech space, you'll probably notice that there are lots of forums like this one on the web (but we're still the best;)). Google's official product support forums are unfortunately not that helpful, as I mentioned before -- and this is often the case with any official tech support forum, strangely enough (from what I've seen on the official Motorola/Lenovo, ASUS, Comcast, and Verizon forums, at least). Good rule of thumb -- if a forum is helpful, it's probably independent!

Again, I hope that solution works well for you. Good luck!
