Merger approved!!

Just waiting for nationwide band n41 mid-band, to go with the current band n71 low-band. Then I'll buy a 5G phone. Would be nice if they would build out bands n260 and n261 mmWave as well.

The 5G phones that you can buy from T-Mobile already have Band 41 capability. They're just waiting for the merger to be finalized and the networks combined so they can turn it on. T-Mobile's near-term plans are centered around low and mid-band 5G, which is the 5G that will actually matter to most people; the range of millimeter wave is so limited that deployments will likely never get beyond a few very densely populated areas.

I'm glad the merger is going through because we were never going to get four healthy carriers. When Softbank approved a plan that involved giving control to the T-Mobile management rather than keeping it themselves, it signaled that the company had had enough and was looking for an exit strategy. If the merger got blocked, the likely outcome is that Softbank would have shut down Sprint and sold off the pieces. Then we would have been in serious danger of getting only TWO healthy carriers, since it's not clear that T-Mobile could have been an effective competitor to Verizon and AT&T without Sprint's spectrum and customer base.

I'm interested in seeing what may happen with this, I kind of wanted the merger. If the phone service turns out to be worse or I don't like what's offered then I'll see what my options are and if need to I'll switch carriers.

As part of the merger TMo has promised not to raise prices for at least 3 years.

Sprint has a decent amount of mid band 5G spectrum to help build out 5G faster. How well TMo will handle the integration is yet to be seen. I don't feel like it's going to hurt them though.

Promises are nice.. but shareholder money speaks way louder.

Can't wait to experience
The combo of Bands, 71,n41, to come together

TMOBILE starting to cut Metro stores. Better do what you have to do before Papers are signed. Can't cut workers or raise prices for 3 years.

I mean they could.. the price hike was a "promise" so no weight.
