Message Pop-up on Lock Screen

I keep getting pop-up messages on my lock screen. I've turned off everything I could find but still get them. Anyone know how to get rid of the pop-ups?

Can you go into a little more detail of what kind of pop ups? I dislike the weather widget, multiple screens. I can stop it from refreshing, but as far as I know, you can't remove it.

I am using Nova Prime as my launcher but when I have a new text message waiting I seem to get an entirely different lock screen. With no new text message the lock screen appears as it usually (Touchwiz lock screen) does with 5 shortcuts (that can be customized under lock screen settings in the settings menu) at the bottom.

With a new text message waiting I get the message preview on the lock screen but I also can swipe side to side and see a camera widget as well as place holders for other widgets (that you can customize... From the lock screen itself) .

When there isn't a new text message waiting I cannot bring up the additional screens by swapping left and right. Strange it's like the pure Android 4.3 JB launcher is battling against the Touchwiz Launcher similar to when I first installed Nova on the Note 3 when I would press the Home button sometimes it would go back to the Touchwiz home screen on the first button press and then subsequent button presses would take me back to the Nova home screen. That seems to have gone away mostly now though.

Thoughts?
