What do I do?

I just flashed the new DasBamf Beta 6, and all was going (kind of) well. The phone is working perfectly now, but my messages app disappeared. I managed to restore the widget with titanium, but it is non-functioning.

Does anyone know how I can get these back?

is it also missing from home screen>menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all>messages ?

did you wipe everything before installing the ROM?
most likely it's a bad flash
check the MD5Sum of the ROM before flashing

one way to fix it is to enter recovery-->wipe data/dalvik/factory data-reset--->flash the ROM again. see if the Message app is there. if it's not--then you got a bad download

I'll try that. It's backing up now cause that was my plan.

I wasn't sure if someone had the apk I could install though. Seemed easier. It was just weird that it was there one minute, and then the next all traces of it were gone.

was--
it there
you restored titanium backup backup (including system apps)
then it was gone?

if your backup overwrote it with an erroneous previous Messages app, then that could explain it, too.

good luck

It was there fine all day yesterday. Then... it was gone. I was doing tons of stuff so it could've been anything that made it disappear.

I tried restoring through titanium, which brought the widget back. I put the widget on the screen, but it is basically non fuctioning. It will show me my old messages, but I can't receive new ones, and it will not let me click on the actual text message.

I'm 90% it is still "home screen>menu>settings>applications>manage applications>all>messages". It just doesn't show up anywhere else.
