Messages being deleted on watch delete off phone t

Is there anyway to delete messages on your Galaxy watch and not affect the messages on the phone? I've noticed whenever I delete messages on my Galaxy watch to clear up space..it's screws with my messages on my S9.

Strange, my wife was asking me the opposite. She wants it to delete on her Note 8 and watch without having to do it on both. I can't find where to do this either way.

If you clear notifications it will clear on both. If you go into the actual email and click delete it will delete on both. If you delete on phone it will delete on watch. Never had an issue with this since I got the watch.

Same issue still looking for solution
