messages disappear (stock app)

I switched from textra to the stock messaging app when I got the Note 10. I just noticed that some of my messages in different threads are missing. Anybody else have/having this problem?

I have seen this before. I use Textra , but when I switch phones and transfer messages some of the messages will show up in n Textra , but not in the stock app. It's weird.

I use messages by google which works great and you can get messages on any computer.

I'm not sure what going on. Its recent text that are disappearing. I could send text today and it will be gone tomorrow. I was looking for a message that my mom sent me last week with some info I needed but, it was gone. So I went through other message threads, some of those text were also missing*

I too switched to Textra. I've not seen this before.
Switch back to the stock message app.
Delete Textra.
Clear the cache partition and reboot.
Reinstall and change to Textra again.

Clear the cache partition

That's for the Linux cache, it has nothing to do with app caches. Force stop the app, clear cache, then uninstall (all in Settings > Apps > Textra). Not clearing the app's cache may cause the same problems after reinstalling it.

If the Textra app is deleted, is that needed on top of the sequence posted?
