Messages notification issue

I have the new and general Message notifications set to alert but with the sound set to silent. However I still get a sound when a new message arrives. I want the on screen icons etc so don't want to change alert to silent. I must be doing something wrong.

Ok, so you have it set on silent but it still makes sound ? I'm on the unlocked version also

It's set to *Alert* but with silent as the sound set to silent

Yeah but that's a carrier firmware, I will look into this later when I get home , I'm curious about this . But i do have my tmobile sim in the unlocked version not my Att

Ok a update here in notifications dont go to general and turn sound silent , go to new message and turn sound to silent ....no bugs it works

Ok. I'll try that. Thank you for your efforts. Very odd that would have any effect having the general sounds with a tone and new messages sound as silent. They were both set to silent.

Might of been changes not sure , I dont usually go into these settings for messages but wanted to figure your issue out. Your welcome
