Question Messaging app Doesn't Swipe to Clear (Android 16)

Maybe I'm the only one but since the last android update my Pixel 8 pro cannot swipe to clear the messaging app. Every app on the phone allows me to swipe up to clear it and make it go away. Only app that doesn't do this is the stock messaging app. It's broken. You can put your finger in the middle of the app and swipe it away but this is ONLY the messaging app.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Can you clarify? It sounds like you're saying that you can't swipe away the Google Messages app in the App Overview/Recent Apps, but then you say "you can put your finger in the middle of the app and swipe it away".

@mustang7757 , OP has a Pixel, which doesn't have the option to lock an app in Recent Apps, I think. Isn't that a One UI feature?

Oh man yeah Samsung has that feature I could have sworn the pixels used to ?
