Messaging app not working

My girlfriend is having issues with the built in messages app. It comes up but when she goes to type a message the keyboard doesn't appear, then it comes up with a message saying 'mesaaging isn't responding' then it says wait or quit. Anyone able to help?

Try Settings, Apps. Find the messaging app then force stop, clear cache and clear data. Reboot and see if that helps.

I tried it this morning before she went to work and it didn't work unfortunately just downloaded android messages and she's using that for now. I'll try and figure it out

i have same issue my sony xz is not respond sms app .try this go to play store and uninstall chrome web browser .issue is chrome browser !
