Messaging crashes

My HTC One M8 has been crashing lately. It also freezes when I try to attach a picture in the text message. Is there an app that might be causing this to do this. thanks.

There could be an issue with a recent app that was installed. Can you think of anything that was recently installed when this issue started?

In the meantime, go into system settings > applications > sort by all > messaging (look for the messaging app) > clear cache (don't clear data, since that will delete the texts).
