Messaging option coming from Iphone

Is there a preferred messaging app that works the best with IMessage on Android? I am coming from Iphome and remember the last time I had Android I used Textra from what I can recall. At times when long texts were received it was like putting a puzzle together because it was all out of order. Sending from what I recall was not an issue because it was sent using MMS.

Everyone in my family as well as 95% of my friends use IPhone so, eventually I gave up and went back to Iphone because of the frustration level.

Unlikely that was caused by the app, though. Most of the time the 'out of order' issues arise from Carrier and/or clock sync issues.

Textra and Pulse are veritable options for texting, but if you want a quick and simple (and that includes free cloud syncing so you can use it like iMessage on any device), Google's own Messages app is the way to go.

If you want to replicate the functionality of iMessage (higher quality media, file transfer, read/typing indicators, etc.) you'll have to look to IM apps like Whatsapp, Telegram, etc. (but those require the other party to also be on those apps).

Most importantly, remember to turn off iMessage for your number before you move out of iOS.
