Messaging Pixel to Pixel on Verizon

I thought through Android messages if the recipient was using it you would be able to see when they are typing and have read receipts. Is there a way to turn this on?

If that's RCS feature, Verizon doesn't support it.

I use the Verizon messaging app and it has those features. When I send a message it displays Sending, Sent, then Delivered to each recipient, and also tells me is someone is typing.

If I remember correctly, it’s in your Android Message app’s settings.

Verizon doesn't support RCS. Their Verizon messages app mimicks some of the features.
