So here's the deal... I don't have Go launcher I don't have any other software altering on my SIII. The only thing i have are some animated backrounds. This happened to my girlfriends SIII and now it's happeneing to mine. The phones are saying there is an unread message on the home screen after we have read and closed the app down. (using the back button to completely exit the messaging). She has taken hers to Sprint who reset the phone (power button and volume down button) not the hard reset using the volume up button. The associate who did it claimed all the contacts were saved and that it was a step needed before the phone is completely replaced, which completely wiped her phone lost all contacts and the only thing the guy managed to save was the pictures. I have to hard reset my phone to get it go away. but after 15 minutes it comes right back and does it again. any suggestions? I'm not going to lose all my contacts that's BS. I'm tired of resetting my phone every 20 minutes to get it to work properly. (((just a side note it does it with any emails I get as well))) Is it possible we were both given a defective phone at the same time? what are the chances???

here does it say you have unread messages? Are you using the original messaging app. Or another app to send texts? And as far as doing factory resets. It did not erase your SD card. That's where your pictures are there. And you probably have your settings mixed up with your contacts. They're set on SAVE TO PHONE. I suggest you save your contacts straight to your Gmail account. So with any phone you have just sign into Gmail and boom all your contacts pop up. Also there is Titanium backup. Which is highly reccomended. It saves apps+app data+system data. So with one app it will bring back all your apps with all the settings and data still.

Well this is what's happening. I will upload a screen shot later when im not on ty sprint .000001 kbs speed and can email a picture to my work computer. It says now i have 8 unread messages. yes it is the original app for the GSIII. The phone is not rooted. My phone is set to back up all data to my google account. but the problem persists even after a soft restart and several hard restarts. Not Exactly sure what to do about the problem. Maybe just go ahead and get a new phone since I bought the coverage im going to use it everytime I get a phone with a problem. Not really wanting to do a factory reset as that is the last option.
