Messaging tone question

Is it possible to assign a different messaging tone to each person on my address list? For example if someone sends me a text message it'll make one sound and if another person sends me a different text message it'll make a different sound?

Yes. Go under your contact's and select said person. Scrolling down you will find a field for both default ringtone and default sound.

Troshs, that's exactly what I figured the solution would be. I'm having the same issue as the OP. My contacts options go from ringtone to LED notification. Nowhere is there a place to see or edit the notification sound. On LG4 LG-812, Android 5.1, on Rogers. Unsure where I need to go from here. I have tried everywhere I can think of. Have used Android for a number of years (all Samsung), but I'm a LG newbie (less than a week). Any hints would be appreciated.

I'm seeing the same options...maybe it's a carrier issue? I'm on Verizon and they're known for disabling useful features
