Messed up my phone very badly with CWM

I royally hosed my new lg optimus elite. I bought it off of Craigslist and now that I'm backtracking I know what I did wrong. But now I don't know how to come back from it.

Its stuck in "Download is in progress. Do not disconnect cable." Loop

I installed CWM and was planning on installing harmonia. I think what I did wrong was 2 things. First off the previous owner more than likely already had rooted the phone. I also used the wrong phone type when choosing the image type in CWM.

Here is what happened. I rooted with the poot method just fine. I installed CWM and picked optimus m(I think?) in the menu to flash and restart to. When I restarted it did the loopty loop.

Is there anything to be done or is it bricked?

Any help is greatly greatly appreciated. I'm pretty good with computers and had no prob rooting / theming my old optimus v.

Yuck... Well unfortunately RomManager doesn't support the Optimus Elite. To install custom recovery you have to do it manually as of yet.

More than likely what happened is since you tried flashing recovery meant for another phone, RomManager tried writing the wrong recovery and since it didn't know what phone you actually had it probably wrote it in the wrong partition. This means it probably messed up some other partition needed by the phone to run properly

You're only hope is to see if you can restore the phone using LGNPST to rewrite the entire firmware file and hope it fixes it. If not looks like you'll be needing a new phone...

I have no doubt that the process won't recovery your phone but the only issue is whether or not Diag mode was ever enabled on your phone... If it was you should be fine... If it wasn't LGNPST won't backup or restore your nvram so you will have a recovered phone that you can't get service on.

But seeing it's not working anyway it can't hurt to try... Go to link below and get rooting guide and follow instructions for jcase root method

It's toast. Bought a new one at wally world for $100. Will be trying to return the old one to LG and see what happens.

This is a great phone though.

do you guys have a dll for the phone. was it vm or sprint optimus elite. I may have a idea too help unbrick it and restore all partitions

I actually just didn't the same thing to mine that I just bought a month ago from Sprint. Anyone find a way to fix this? Not wanting to send it back in but looks like I might have to

Mine is a Virgin Mobile.

If I could figure it out that would be sweet. I could give it to my wife. Heck our anniversary is coming up in a week and I still have the box from the other phone. ha!
