Messenger app - contact pics

I am wondering if there is a way to get contact pics to show for messenger conversions. I have my contexts synced with Facebook, but the pic do not show in messenger. I upgraded from a S3 and it did this but I can't figure it out how to on the S6.

I don't use the facebook app on my s6 like I did on my s4 but make sure in your contacts list that the contact is linked to their FB contact info.

Following on from the above comment, this can be done by clicking into your contact, selecting more then "link contact" find the facebook contact and link it I also don't use fb so I can't confirm if that is the final step or not - let us know how you get on.

I discovered that I had some duplicate contacts that for some reason were not getting linked. I just deleted the duplicates not linked to FB and that seems to have resolved the issue.

Yah ever since I moved over from ios to Android I've had like 200 of each contact... It's ridiculous. I don't want to link them I just want one per person, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way to fix it. I've had to go in and delete individually. Not fun.
