Hey guys, i've been using a verizon varient of the s6 edge plus. I've heard lost of people saying that Facebook Messenger is the bane of android battery life. However, it's taking more battery than my screen which is extremely rediculous. I use this app regularly but how can it be higher than my screen on time in battery consumption?

(btw if a thread moderator sees the exact same details listed here by another account, that was me. please delete to get rid of confusing details. thanks.)

Messenger has always drained a lot even for me. It depends on if you constantly keep it open and have a chat floating around then it becomes worse. I've had the same situation but it's not really a issue based on my experience... I guess I just completely stopped using FB lol. No more FB here at all.

Okay, is there any good alternatives to messenger that will also work for an iOS user too? I love the fluidity of messenger but i dont want it murdering my battery.
