Messenger for Facebook will not install on my Samsung tab 4

I tried to install messenger on my Samsung tab 4 and it keeps coming up error code 504. Can you please help me?

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps, select Google Play Store, tap Storage, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Do the same for Download Manager -- you probably have to tap Menu>Show System to see it. Now try again.

I did all of that and it still didn't work! I have over 1GB remaining for downloads. Now, it does download but, when it comes to installing, it wont. Anything else I can try??

We've been seeing a few other posts about problems with installing Facebook Messenger, possibly only on certain Samsung devices. Do other apps install without issue? Google was having server issues over the weekend affecting Gmail, YouTube, and other services, so maybe it was also affecting the Play Store. But if you can still install other apps, then it's probably a compatibility glitch with the app itself. Send feedback to the developer and wait for them to fix the problem.

I alao have the same problem. All other apps install without problems except Facebook Messenger. I even tried recieving the app from another device through ShareIt. I also have a Samsung tab 4

Messenger lite works but I would really prefer Messenger because I also use it as my text messager, and it's really inconvenient having no chathead

I understand, but I've been hearing around the forums that Facebook giving some issues , so I gave another option until it gets resolved. Can also send Facebook that error message .
