Hi,

Ordered a MHL adapter from Monoprice and plugged it directly into the Evo LTE and then HDMI into the TV with no additional power...bam...works just fine.

Just an FYI is all...

Thanks,
Doug

What TV do you have?

Newer TVs actually have the ability to deliver power directly through the HDMI (MHL Ready). I would guess that this has more to do with your TV then with the EVO.

I was just about to write about hooking up my EVO with an mhl adapter. For some reason it doesn't work for me. I've had this as I used it on my e3d . At first I thought it was a bad hdmi cable but after switching three different tines still no luck. Also when I plug everything in it bugs all out. The scree gets laggy and hard to move screens

I have a Samsung plasma from 2010 so I don't know if that would power it. Forgot to mention that its actually running through my Denon receiver and then into my TV.

I bought a TaoTronics branded mhl adapter for my Galaxy Nexus. It needs external power. There is a female micro-USB port on the side of the adapter to plug my phone's charging cable into. Works fine.

Can you post a link for where you bought yours?

Sent from my EVO using Android Central Forums

I have a Samsung mhl going to give it a try and post back to see if it needs power.

When you plug in power to the adapter, does it charge the phone?

If you watch videos on the tv, how long does your phone last w/o being plugged in is the question?...

That's why I'd like to know if plugging in the power cable charges the phone while it's hooked up.

Just recieved my MHL adapter from monoprice and with everything plugged in, it does charge the phone. I had 1080p and the picture was good and smooth. Watched several youtube vids and streamed a little Netflix.
