MHL not picking up phone through HDMI Cable

[Android Central Question]

I have a Samsung J3 and purchased a micro usb MHL Cable set up to watch from my phone to TV. When I plug in the device, set up micro usb to phone, HDMI Cable to TV , the MHL comes up on my TV sources but no picture of my phone. Any help or suggestions

To the best of my knowledge the J3 does not support MHL (usb-to-HDMI) output, so the only way you can mirror your phone onto a TV is wirelessly (either if the TV supports it or via Chromecast or Roku or something similar).

Forgot this... There are other apps, but this one claims to be able to check if your phone is MHL compatible.
