MHL question. Note 2 hdmi to LEDtv

I was thinking of buying an Apple Tv box to watch HBOgo and MaxGo, but figured it would be cheaper to get a MHL / HDMI cable for my Note 2. The question is, will apps or whatever else I have on my phone show up on my TV? I'm hoping the things you can do with the cable aren't limited. Thanks!

Everything will show up - it's going to mirror your screen.

Make sure you get the new 11 pin cable and not the old 5 - the old one doesn't work with the Note 2.

I think individual apps could stop HDMI output. HBO Go on Android used to do that so you cannot watch it on big screen. I think they lifted that limit just earlier this year so it should be okay now.

That would be lame if they blocked it. I'll let you guys know as soon as the cable comes in that ordered.
