Mi Cloud: Authentication failed - Invalid username or password

I have changed my password and when I try to sign in to Mi cloud to reactivate the sync, it shows the following error. I have entered the correct password and this was used to sign into my Mi account. I am using Redmi 2 and my MIUI is MIUI Global 8.1. Please help!
