Is it me, or are you also getting lint stuck in microphone hole on the face of the Moto X? I'm curious why Motorola decided to put it there, my old GNEX didn't have a mic there and worked fine.

It was probably something to do with aesthetics. Moto may not have realized that would happen.

yes. this is happening. it gradually builds up. i was looking for a pin to clean it out but then got over it knowing its just going to fill up again. i think they placed it there on purpose for noise cancellation and/or to position the mic closer to the mouth. its not really bothering me anymore.

I concur. I'm a clay sculptor so constantly getting clay in all of the openings at one time or another. I put tape over it, the headphone jack and power jack while I'm at work. Wish there were little rubber plugs that I could insert to keep stuff out of em when I don't have it plugged in.
I will be making those soon
Word to the wise....never stick a pin in the mic hole

Old thread, but any recommendations of the best way to clean this out?

Whatever you do don't try a pin or needle. Best thing is light puffs of air or a slight vacuum. Better to pull than to push. I use short puffs of an air nozzle at work. Does the job well
