Mic not working during speaker phone

Hello,
I have a S4 mini.
Whenever I turn-on my speaker during a call, the mic stops working. However it works perfectly when speaker is turned off.

Any solutions?

Welcome to Android Central! The speakerphone mic is usually different from the primary phone mic. Which mic works perfectly when speakerphone is turned off?

I guess the mic at the bottom next to charging point works when speaker phone is turned off.. does this mean the spekerphone mic is damaged-?

That may be the case. The secondary mic is also used for recording audio when taking a video (although it might be a combination of the primary and secondary mics recording stereo audio). Try taking a video, then see if the audio is present (and if present, if it's only coming through one channel).

Not that I'm aware of.
