Mic only works when Speaker is enabled

For some reason, my HTC One M8's mic will not work unless i have Speaker enabled?
Tried doing a hard reset, did not fix issue.

Welcome to Android Central! Speakerphone typically uses the secondary mic (at the top of the phone). If people can only hear you on speakerphone or when using a wired or Bluetooth headset, then your primary mic is either faulty or blocked. Inspect the mic opening closely to see if it's clogged by debris.

Good chance it's a clogged mic port.
Tried cleaning holes, did not seem to help.
Ended up buying a used HTC One M9, which arrives tomorrow.
