Hey Guys,

I am deciding whether to buy either a Class 10 Sandisk 128gb or a Sandisk 64gb Extreme Pro (90mb write and read).

Can anyone tell me whether the phone will struggle with recording 4k to the 128gb card if it is class 10? Or is it enough?

Basically they cost the same amount of money - and I want to know if I will be limited with anything in buying the Class 10 over the 64gb.

Anyone got experience???

Thanks!!!

By default, the phone records 4K at about 30Mbps. A "class 10" card should handle write speeds of 80Mbps or more. You should be fine with a Class 10 card.

If you root your phone and modify some files, you can force the phone to record at about twice the standard bitrate (65Mbps is the highest setting I believe) in which case you may start bumping into issues with recording directly to a standard Class 10 card. In that case, one of the faster UHS-I Class 3 cards would be good insurance.

I ran the mod at 64mbps and had no issues with the class 10 Samsung Evo.

Good for you. As I stated, a person may start to have issues. That doesn't mean everyone will have issues with every card.

Also, fwiw, the Evo cards are UHS-I Class 1, which has more strict assurances for supporting minimum, sustained write speeds than just a regular "class 10" card does.

You are right, it is good for me.

Both of the cards he referenced have listed speeds faster than my Evo and are both UHS-1 as well.
